Welcome to Wonder Treks!
We specialize in taking students abroad to study ecology, conservation, and cultures. If you want to learn more about the world we live in, and have a desire to travel to exotic places, then going on a Wonder Trek may be the best decision you ever make! Join us for a spectacular trip of a lifetime!
We had another incredible trip this past July and are excited to announce our next Wonder Trek to Peru, July 4th to July 21st, 2011! During our studies we will travel up the Amazon river from Iquitos, through the Andes mountains from Cusco to Machu Picchu, and south along the coast from Lima to Paracas National Reserve and the Islas Ballestas. Throughout our travels we will explore rainforest ecology, a variety of ecosystems found in the mountains, coastal ecology, and finish up in the Atacama desert (the driest desert in the world). Of course, we can't understand conservation issues without also learning about local cultures and land ethics. Throughout our adventure we will be learning about the fascinating history of various cultural groups that has led to current day Peru.
Our summer 2011 student Wonder Trek sold out quickly, and we have begun accepting students for our summer 2012 trip! We are also planning a similar trip for "adults" next summer. Please contact Wonder Treks for more details if you are interested in participating.
